Review of Creation (2009) by Alessandra F — 18 Feb 2012
I'm not sure why it has such a low rating. I found the inner struggle between science and faith, his family life and the tragedy of the loss of the daughter perfectly interwoven. We all think in black and white terms when it comes to scientific theories as if scientist weren't humans nor believers.
The film is beautifully shot and beautifully acted. In paticular I liked the role of Emma, Darwin wife character. She definitely wasn't a secondary character in his life and the scene in which she reads the book at candle light sitting straight at the table reflects this.
You don't doubt for a minute why he prefers her as a judge of his work rather than someone else. He knows she will be fair.
