The story of Charles Darwins stuggles of writing "The Origin Of Species". Surprisingly large part of the film is devoted to his family life and especially to the relationship with his God fearing wife and the late daughter who haunts his progress.
Touching family drama combined with the birth story of a maybe the most important book in human history. Bettany and Connelly (also married in real life) have a good chemistry and Amiel handles the darker aspects of the story with care.
Definitely a suprisingly good British drama.
