Usually chick flicks are not my thing (example would be the Notebook. Three words explain it perfectly: annoying, generic, estrogen). Then this movie comes along and does a fresh and to an extent enjoyable take on love.

The story was brilliantly portrayed through the cast members and was surprisingly smart. Of course with this film you get the drama, but you get a fun comedy that is not forcing to be funny. This film tackles upon all aspects of love.

.. at least most of them. From the childhood crush to the heavy situation of divorce, the film tackles it and it felt relatable. The script was witty, same as the characters. I'm pretty sure Ryan Gosling stole the show and the character he emanated was one that every man tries to do when it comes to women.

The thing that really surprises me was the weight the film carries. Not just the dilemma of divorce but the idea of "never losing sight of who you are as a man, as a lover and as a husband [if you are married]" and that love has its ups and downs and that's why it's called Crazy Stupid Love.

Overall, I surprisingly enjoyed the film and would recommend anyone to watch it. Yes it's a chick flick but yes it's not a estrogen filled movie that would kill the testosterones of males. It's surprisingly fun and full of warmth.
