Review of Crazy Rich Asians (2018) by Dane F — 31 Aug 2018
Pure opulence of the .01%, mega rich! At one point of the movie, they brag that they spent $40 million dollar on a wedding, while another character stated I want mine to be BIGGER! The rich mother sits in her billion dollar home in Singapore studying the bible with friends and reads a script "Look no for treasures on earth but in heaven" as her "servants" bustle around her mega mansion catering to her and her families every need.
I'm sorry, this movie is about possessions, who is worth what, and is shallow of all shallow. At the end (SPOILER ALERT), the two fall in love, get engaged and she returns to Singapore after he garnishes a ROCK of a ring.
In the hotel, there are synchronized swimmer and fireworks blasting off the building for their "engagement". Truly shallow and for the shallow minded. I think the only reason people feel obligated to give it a GREAT review is because of the Asian/ American cast!
