Review of Crazy Rich Asians (2018) by Ronald W — 14 Aug 2018

I saw this during the Girls Night Out advance screening special.

This is definitely an edited and toned down version for the book, but I think the movie did a great job of capturing the essence of the story as well as the lush background of Asia and the opulence of said crazy rich Asians. The performances of Awkwafina as comedic bestie and Michelle Yeoh as the dreaded dragon MIL are on point. Yes this is a rom com, but a beautifully done one with amazing food porn, beautiful people, and some really cool architecture.
