Review of Crazy Love (2007) by Nick D — 27 Dec 2007
WHOA. This is an absolutely ridiculous story, jaw-dropping in its absolutely cinematic craziness. It's shocking, frightening and really pissed me off a lot. That said, the documentary has a few weaknesses; it is pervasively even-handed, with Klores seemingly feeling obliged to show both sides of the argument, though I doubt anyone will fight for Burt Pugach, who is obviously clinically insane.
And the ending leaves something to be desired; instead of reveling in the dark comedy apparent in the rest of the movie, Klores tries to end on a sweet note, something that is most definetely out of place in this absolutely stunning, complex story.
