Review of Crazy Heart (2009) by John E — 06 Jan 2011

A wonderfully believable yet heartbreaking performance by Jeff Bridges anchors this down in the dumps story about an aging alcoholic country music singer. Living off the bottle and sliding down the backside of his career, Bridges' character is like watching a train wreck happen in slow motion.

While the story has been told a hundred times, it's the sincere performances by all involved that make this human drama twag at your heartstrings like an old country song.
