Review of Crazy Heart (2009) by Mike P — 26 Nov 2011
A solid story backed by great acting and great music. This film wanders around in your head after the credits roll, both for its catchy real-country tunes, and for how the fictional life of Thomas Cobb (a fiction based in several real country singers' biographies) is made compelling by Jeff Bridges' performance.
While the journey through a washed-up, alcoholic country singer/songwriter is a difficult one at times, the story's theme of bitter redemption makes it one worth taking.
