Review of Crazy/Beautiful (2001) by Joyce Y — 09 Nov 2009
The name of the film that I watched was Crazy Beautiful. The prominent stars of the film were Kristen Dunst as Nicole and jay Hernandez as Carlos Nunez. The story was based in California in 2001. It was a romantic drama.
In the movie Nicole (Kristen Dunst) is a troubled teenager who looses her mother and began to go down hill. She then meets a boy named Carlos (Jay Hernandez), who is someone who?s trying to escape his neighborhood and make something of him self and be pilot. They began dating and she becomes a distraction for him in terms of reaching his dream.
The costume aspect of the filmmaking was poor. The character Nicole and her best friend wore some outfits that I didn?t agree with. The cut up tube tops without a bra just isn?t my style. I especially didn?t like the skirts and tube tops and how they looked dirty.
I also didn?t like the background music because it?s not my type of music and it should have been a little more relevant to the story. They should have showed more of Carlos heritage by playing his type of music. The only time we heard music from his heritage was in the scene of when they had the Quincy.
My overall reaction to the movie was it was relatable and I could actually see my self in that situation. Even with all mistakes. I suggest anyone who wants to see a relatable drama with romantic undertones to watch crazy beautiful.
