?Crazy/Beautiful?: A Love Distraction.

Review by Nikky D.

Rating: Two Thumbs Up.

The movie Crazy/Beautiful was directed by John Stockwell and was filmed in Los Angeles, California. The three prominent stars of the film are Kirsten Dunst-Nicole Oakley, Jay Hernandez-Carlos Nunez, and Bruce Davison-Tom Oakley. This film is a 21st Century film. Crazy/Beautiful is a dramatic/romance type of film.

Crazy/Beautiful, ?A love distraction,? was about ?a rich girl who meets and falls in love with poor boy.? When love steps in and brings together two high school seniors from opposite sides, it's something crazy/beautiful in this story of love. Nicole is the 17-year-old troubled daughter of a wealthy congressman who never met a rule she didn't break. Carlos is an A average student with big dreams who takes a two-hour bus ride every morning to attend high school in an upscale L.A. neighborhood. Their little flirtations quickly developed into passionate love, but Nicole's outrageous behavior threatens their relationship and puts Carlos' promising future in jeopardy. Stayed tuned to what happens next.

I honestly loved this movie. However the costume designs for Nicole were ridiculous. The fact that she had no upper garments on through the whole movie made her look dirty. I understand that she became careless because the loss of her mother but that still doesn?t mean that she has to walk around with no under garments on. Surprisingly, Nicole was nowhere near from an improvised family. Once again she is the congressman?s daughter and lived in a glass house with her family. Carlos, on the other hand, was from a middle class Hispanic family but nonetheless displays a stronger demeanor and understanding of life.

The actors in this film were outstanding. They really caught my attention and probably will catch yours as well. One character that stood out the most was Nicole. It was her terrible behavior that caught me. She presented herself as if she had no parents at all. She skipped class, drank alcohol, went to wild parties, and came in the house whenever she felt like it, basically did the opposite of good. I was sighing, laughing, and doing all types of emotions during this movie. Crazy/Beautiful will make you feel like you?re actually just sitting down and the actors are just in front of you doing what they are suppose to do as in the movie.

The movie, Crazy/Beautiful, deserves two-thumbs up! This movie can relate to many teenagers and adults as well. Its helps many people see the importance in life and what to focus on. If ever wanting to see a movie about drama/romance I would recommend Crazy/Beautiful. This movie is truly a love distraction.
