Review of Crank (2006) by Kevin K — 14 May 2010
Outrageous and totally unbelievable, but at the same time wildly entertaining, this is a reimagining of "D.O.A" and the movie "Speed". It's violent, bloody and foul mouthed but also very funny.
Amy Smart hits all the right comedy notes as Chelios' ditzy girlfriend while Statham handles the action pretty much as he does in the "Transporter" movies. Not crazy about some of the directing flourishes, but as a whole, I enjoyed this outrageous escapist adventure.
