Review of Cowspiracy: The Sustainability Secret (2014) by Nat P — 25 Sep 2015
This documentary presents dubious statistics and claims "cowspiracy" when those interviewed fail to agree with the narrator.
After watching this movie I was intrigued by the sensational claims. I did some research and found out actual greenhouse gas emissions from livestock are about 10-15% of world emissions, NOT 51% as stated in the movie. The 51% claim is from a non-peer reviewed report with questionable methodology. Don't take my word for it though. Read the peer reviewed study "Livestock and greenhouse gas emissions: The importance of getting the numbers right", 2011, by Herrero et al. and see the report "Tackling climate change through livestock" by the Food and Agricultural Organization of the United Nations.
