Review of Courage Under Fire (1996) by Noah S — 19 Jul 2007
Even though I've caught better wartime films later on, this was my first good one that really moved me (specially near the end). Like all movies of this genre, they like to reveal the ugly nature of war itself, but COF shows an aspect of this ugliness that is not often touched upon.
Thought-proking with excellent performances (though watching Meg Ryan act as a tough nut took a bit getting used to), I whole-heartedly recommend this to all viewers, especially younger viewers (I caught this when I was 14) as the message it delivers is entirely too relevant, more so now than it was before.
