Review of Courage of Lassie (1946) by Paul D — 13 Jul 2009
First of all; why on earth is this movie called Courage Of Lassie, when there is no such dog in this movie that is named Lassie. The name of the dog is Bill, and Elizabeth Taylor´s character Kathie takes care of it after it has been hurt by a shotgun.
Soon Bill is taken and used as a war dog, and after making it getting home to Kathie again they consider if he might be dangerous after his experiences in the war.
Too much cheese and sugar on this one! And why are they trying to ride on Lassie Come Home´s success soo bad, that they fool us by calling the movie Courage Of "Lassie", and using the same child actress Elizabeth Taylor but in a completely different role (and whatsmore she felt a little bit too old for this part).
The only thing that charmed me in this movie was the beautiful filming in the nature.
