Review of Couples Retreat (2009) by Lana O — 19 Nov 2011
The best comedies understand their subject and play the situation to humorous effect. This film, ostensibly about marriage, knows less than nothing about the way marriages work. This, coupled with mostly uninspired writing, recommends itself only because it evokes an occasional memory of how good Vince Vaughan was in Swingers.
Just go watch that instead.
