Review of Country Strong (2010) by Jonathan T — 20 Jun 2011
I'm still not sure whether I liked this. The back and forth romantic ping pong started pissing me off, and I felt like I got kicked in the gut toward the end, but the music was top notch and that may well be what kept me interested.
I like to be immersed in every film I watch, and I definitely was in this one. At the end of the day, a wonderful soundtrack overcame a screenplay that may have been slightly lacking. I've made my decision and yes, I liked this movie.
One extra half star just for the Make-A-Wish scene.
