Review of Cosmopolis (2012) by Steve L — 20 Sep 2012
Cosmopolis is a 2012 film starring Robert Pattinson from the Twilight series of movies, who it seems, will take any rule that doesnâ(TM)t involve Vampires, wolves, and Kristen Stewart, but hey! Can you blame the guy? Robert Pattinson plays a character named Eric who is a 28-Year-Old billionaire. who, for some reason, rides slowly in his limo down Manhattan. One of the major traffic jams are caused by the President of the United States; not Barack Obama, but a character played in the movie called President.
Throughout the movie his personality transpires from âCreepy quiet rich guyâ? to âCreepy quiet killer â" rich guy.â? Isnâ(TM)t that a shame? The movie is a very slow and somewhat boring one at times, but donâ(TM)t get me wrong. Robert was alright in this, he wasnâ(TM)t as bad as his Twilight boringness and the addition of Stewart. However, this movies seems to try and make you âbelieveâ? itâ(TM)s super-smart and super-hipster-fancy.
I also noticed that Rob seems to have a different person in his car most of the time, whether itâ(TM)ll be a friend, family member, his co-worker or just some weird person trying to get into his limo. He seems want to talk to every single person he comes across in this long limo ride down Manhattan. At least he comes off as a nice guy.
It seems like everyone has something to say, and that they have no idea what theyâ(TM)re talking about most of the time during the movie. They come off as that oh so smart personality, reading lines and clearly not understanding what theyâ(TM)re talking about, which is the real problem. Oh, their is also one boring club scene too. Continuing on from the movie his limo gets destroyed because of protesters interrupt his lone journey from one street to the other.
To quickly end this review. It wasnâ(TM)t that great of a movie at all, and the fact that it went on for as long as it did and didnâ(TM)t really add anything new was pretty stupid. Robert Pattinson was alright, and it was good to see him try a different role, but that really didnâ(TM)t do anything for me. Sure, most of the girls probably liked it because they love Edward Cullen but I donâ(TM)t, and this movie was completely stupid trying to come off as some arty-fartsy hipster bullshit.
