Review of Cosmopolis (2012) by Sasy N — 19 Nov 2013
Cronenberg is a talented story teller--I'll give him that--but he either doesn't know how to make conversations sound natural (with far too many shifting subjects and broken thoughts) or he intentionally makes it irritating to follow the interactions between characters.
An ego-genius like Parker can be forgiven for being too stilted, out of touch with normal human interaction, and far too full of himself, but it seemed like all, ALL, of the character shared this same flaw.
That being said, it was entertaining, but a little too slow, putting excessive emphasis on the reason Parker was declining in the beginning of the film and then spelling it out rather than letting us absorb it at the end.
