Cronenburg's got a lot of stick for this film and more recent outings, but I'd say he's made a bold step here.Feels like Sheakspeare, William Gibson,Cronenburg, Burroughs and Dellilo cram themselves into Pattisons limo and talk economics and tech on meth.
The dialogue is dense,cold, trite and tense and delivered like a stage play; it can seem very "arty farty" at times and the dialogue veers from incoherent techno econo babble to poetic prose, but the story of a plausible future/ now of economic ruin in a single day seems very relevant in recent times.
