Its interesting to see films still taking a risk and delivering something much more then the blockbusters that swarm the multiplexes. Cronenberg has always been a great director and he is probably the only person who could take such a story driven film and created something beyond expectations.

The film is well shot and moves along at a very slow pace, this is a grim story with no characters to really become emotionally attached too. the film is quite cold which is a lot like many of the characters Cronenberg creates in he's films. Many audience members will dismiss this film for its cold and dark view on society but underneath there is a film that will sit with you after the credits role.

Pattinson may be trying to shake the image that is sitting upon he's shoulders after the quite terrible twilight films. they may have created an instant star but he is trying to find more challanging roles in between to save he's credability. The problem I had with the film is him, he just doesn't suit the role to be honest. He isn't bad just miscast.

The film is basically a day long journey and you do get to meet a string of interesting characters along the way. Cronenberg is quite good at creating a story worth the films running time and its daring and complex. this is how indie films should be made.
