Review of Cosmopolis (2012) by Micah B — 19 Apr 2013

I watched this movie twice...i rather liked the way they talked to each other...it had a surrealist feel to it. The film really lost me at the rap star funeral scene though...all that blubbering and then he is falling all over his black friend.

..i found it embarrassing. Then he shoots his bodyguard (the only character I actually liked) because he spoke German or was it that he didn't play basketball? Or was he trying to show off to the 'homies' playing b-ball there in the 'hood'? (as if anyone wants to see a murder in their neighborhood) Seems like somebody has been listening to too much cypress hill and thinks that he is all hard or something because of it.

The character even smiles a little bit after he does it like...hey...i'm one of you now...really disturbing reverse racism...if such a thing can exist. Ennui, 'white guilt'...i would give it a sliver of a star.
