Review of Cosmopolis (2012) by Lynda M — 28 Jun 2013
I keep reading reviews of this movie, from o many reviewers who found it confusing. I sat with two other people and watched it for the first time last evening and all three of us found it riveting, we couldn't look away, nor did we pause the DVD player, and in our house that's saying something! It gave us the feeling that if you didn't get it, then you've drank the cool-aid, David made it so obvious with that giant rat rolling on top of the car, he couldn't have gotten the message across better if he'd thrown cold water at you personally.
It wad a brilliant message that should have made a profound impact on anyone who watched the film. Unfortunately it didn't get much of a release did it? I live in Canada and had to buy the DVD to see it, it never played in any theatre near me.
The acting was very strong, I don't think it could have been cast better. Pattinson who normally looks like the camera is in love with, came across cold and detached and not nearly as attractive as he normally is seen in film, so he really managed to nail the character of Mr.
Parker. Juliette Binoche was wonderul, animated. Sarah Gadon was amazing...
