Review of Cosmopolis (2012) by Risya H — 08 Jan 2013
Not very good; however, this is the closest Pattinson has come to actual acting from what I've seen of his work. Thes film is very vague and contrived, not sure what any of the points really were, except that the finance sector is a complete and utter fraud.
The dialogue reminds me a bit of a Hal Hartley movie. Sometimes I felt like maybe Cronenberg was trying to make a Dogme movie because the film is very anti-climactic and counter-intuitive... never really giving the audience what they expect.
I give Cronenberg props for trying something new but this is almost as bad as some of his worst (i.e. Crash).
