Review of Coraline (2009) by Sierra S — 10 Nov 2012
It is the anti-Disney. The main plot is sorta standard Alice in wonderland fare, but it is done with such expertise. The film looks beautiful, Henry Selick is defiantly a master of stop motion animation.
It reaches a point where the audience forgets it is animated and just enjoys the experience. However, this movie is defiantly not for kids. There are some disturbing images that I know would have bothered me if I were younger.
Also all a majority of the characters are unpleasant people, interesting, and eccentric, but unpleasant. Over all an enjoyable movie for weirdos.
