A little too cerebral for its own good. At its best when it's not doing much. When it's just Coraline dicking around her house, exploring. You could cut most of the dialogue out of this film and it would've been a lot more effective.
Also, the mix of CGI and stop motion is a little frustrating. Some stuff looks incredible, other stuff looks bad. The best looking stuff is the stuff that really has texture.
