Review of Cop Land (1997) by Phillip J — 23 Aug 2007
Im sure the cast list was originally a wish list. However, the finest actors in cinema all line up for this one. A slow burning tale of corruption and how a local cop finally stands up for what's right.
Liotta, Kietel and DeNiro all deliver but it's Stallone who sells the whole story. Underplaying his character and giving his cop a quiet dissatisfaction that swells into a violent stand against cops-gone-bad.
His finest hour since Rocky. A highly enjoyable and intelligent thriller.
