Review of Cop Land (1997) by Toby L — 19 Sep 2007
I love police dramas and this is no different, no different at all.
You get an ensemble cast in this NYC/New Jersey set epic. Harvey Keitel, Ray Liotta, Robert De Niro, Robert Patrick and Sylvester Stallone's most superb performance ever. He actually gained weight for this role too.
Sly is the sheriff of a small, small NJ town across the shore from the insane NYC. Almost everyone in the town is a member of the NYPD and crime is practically non-existent. However, Freddy (Sly) gets the feeling that something isn't right. He discovers that his suspicions were spot on.
He takes on the big wigs of the group of NYPD officers that live in the town, risking a lot more than his career as a sheriff. Watch this one ASAP.
