Please don't take the negative reviews to heart. This is a fun and engaging movie which film fans will love. The negative reviews seem to come from reviewers who only watch watered down mainstream movies.
If you're looking for something with more edge that what you can find in a multiple, combines Raymond Chandler with a mix of live action and animation. There aren't a great deal of interesting directors working in America, but Ralph Bakshi is someone who's entire movie catalogue should be watched by movie fans.
If you enjoyed :David Lynchs 'Wild At Heart' and Jan Svankmajor films, check this out.
