Review of Conviction (2010) by Sv G — 04 Mar 2011
Swank and Rockwell play a close knit brother and sister who survived a rough childhood together. As adults the brother is charged wtih murder of a young woman and sent to prison and the sister with a troubled marriage and two sons decides she is going to become an attorney and defend him, even though she is yet to secure her GED (high-school equiviancy test).
She does this with the support of her friend (Minnie Driver) and does indeed go onto defend her brother. This is yet another of many "based on a true story" film, and though the story is a good one, the script is not quite upto snuff.
The actors (though I am fans of all) give not their best performances I have seen and overall I would say this is a fair movie with an interesting story.
