Review of Conversations with Other Women (2006) by Robinsnest — 09 Feb 2012
A love story although mis-titled as their is only one woman. Ms Carter is wonderful as always but Mr Eckhart is uncomfortable in the role. He is either making jokes or overly depressed. This must be to hide his true feelings, he wants back in her life, but he is not strong enough for me to want them to get back together.
Even with his performance I liked the film, talky as it is. Ms Carter is sexy, aloof, mysterious, and I'd want to get back with her! She did make the right choice on not continuing with Mr Eckhart. A solid whimsical, poignant film I rate a B.
One very important plus-the entire movie is filmed in split screen. At the start I was not sure if this was temporary and it was a bit off putting. As the film progressed I was able to see different POV's and it heightened my enjoyment.
Must have been a very difficult task when editing; like putting together two different films that have to "work" side by side.
