Review of Control (2007) by Eric M — 16 Sep 2010
I'm surprised at all the kudos this film has received. I will give credit to Samantha Morton and Sam Riley who do excellent acting jobs in the film, but the story just wasn't there for me. A young kid becomes the lead singer in a band that becomes popular.
He then deals with the issue of having a wife and kid and also needing to tour to continue the fame. Nothing new here. I'm not sure why I'm supposed to feel for a character like Ian Curtis that has an opportunity in life very few have and he's depressed for no reason provided.
Feel free to skip this one.
