Le Mepris goes something like this: cut to naked Bardot - Do you love me? Yes I love you. Cut to Jack Palance shouting. Cut to Bardot - I don't love you anymore and I'm not telling you why! Cut to Jack Palance shouting, insert the loss of French national pride and naked Bardot.
Be careful of anyone who tells you this is a masterpiece. It isn't. It's awful.
