Review of Contempt (1963) by Andriy D — 21 Mar 2010
No matter what others say, I still don't like Godard. What is there except long-winded pretentious dialogue between a man and a woman and some pretentious "postmodern" self-referentiality.
Godard is always flat, he has no depth. Even his more stylized films like 'Masculin/Feminin' come to suffer, in my opinion, from a stereotypical French flaw - lack of sincerity. 'Contempt' is eminently forgettable despite some nice shots of Bardot's naked a$$.
