Review of Contagion (2011) by Brett H — 17 May 2013

I like Steven Soderbergh, but I thought the script prevented him from making any meaningful impact. The whole movie is a downward spiral towards complete infection of the whole planet that comes across as somewhat monotonous.

I watched it and I felt miserable, not because of anything necessarily bad, but the essence of it was pretty depressing. The cast however is spot on and gives it some lift but it all plays out like that eternal wait going up the hill on a roller coaster but the movie ends right where the roller coaster starts speeding up.
