More scientifically sound then most sci fi's, quite realistic and somewhat interesting because it asks profound questions but supplies easy answers, it would have been better to have none or find them ourselves.
the ending was a rip off of the ending of 2001, i'm all for the recycling of ideas if you can improve or at least show them in a different light, but this just degrades a great concept from a great film.
am I crazy or is kubrick the only truly intelligent and imaginative filmmaker? okay I exaggerate, there are a few others but not this... watch 2001.
