Review of Contact (1997) by Cory B — 01 May 2010

I tend to avoid Zemeckis, but had to check this out; I love science fiction when it's grounded in actual science, and 'Contact' was just that. Foster is probably one of my top five favorite actresses; she portrays all of her characters so convincingly and effortlessly, and here, as Ellie Arroway, she shines.

Great story, great special effects (for '97), and an amazing outcome. Some of the dialogue was wince-inducing and some supporting characters were out of place or shoe-horned into the plot, but all in all, I'd say it makes it into my top one-hundred.
