Review of Contact (1997) by Hedy F — 16 Aug 2011
Contact is an inspired and intelligent sci-fi motion picture, anchored on Jodie Foster's amazing performance as Ellie Arroway. Robert Zemeckis never let the visual effects to be more important than the story and gives Foster room to create one of her best characters, taking us in a journey that is not only about aliens, but about science, religion and politics, never letting the movie to get boring, even when it's heavily diolegue driven, an anomaly in a world where sci-fi movies are more and more action packed, apealling more to our senses than to our brains, Contact apeals to both without being boring.
