Review of Congo (1995) by Jesse B — 16 Apr 2018

Pretty decent jungle adventure flick. Good popcorn quality fun. High budget sets and top quality special effects for the mid 90s. Some basic humor and mild violence, nothing too over the top. The soundtrack's not bad, acting is on par.

Not much to complain about, just not anything spectacular. They could have ramped up the drama a bit more, just to give it some tension / suspense but otherwise it satisfies just fine. Just good straight forward almost pulp action and atmosphere with a sense of wonderment.

You might find this movie a bit too simplistic or juvenile however, there is just a certain nostalgic charm and carefree senseability about this that works.
