Review of Confidence (2003) by Shawn-Ray M — 18 Mar 2010
A great cast and a style that is rarely seen in grifter movies makes for an enjoyable film to watch, but what starts strong quickly loses steam in the final act. Maybe it's because con men movies always seem to have to have that triple-cross to make them seem authentic, but the "twists" at the end of these movies have been a long time anything but.
Still, it was an enjoyable ride, and I particularly enjoyed both Ed Burns and Dustin Hoffman's characters, especially in the few scenes where the interacted. It's worth a rental, but nothing more.
