Review of Confessions of a Dangerous Mind (2002) by Nathan H — 11 Mar 2008
"A Beautiful Mind" on acid. An important man is tapped by the CIA to become a killer, and the story is just so bizarre and creepy that you want it to be true.
Wildly and mesmerizingly paranoid. Directed to perfection by George Clooney.
I didn't have high hopes for "Confessions of a Dangerous Mind," but this film is absolutely epic...it covers the same time span as "Forrest Gump" or "Goodfellas," but the juxtaposition of game show madness and CIA killings has a really fascinating, disturbing effect. It's a couple years old now, but check this movie out. True or not (sorry, it ain't true, but the fact that it could get you to believe for awhile is a testament to the filmmaking), it's still a hell of an experience.
