Review of Concussion (2015) by Amilcar A — 02 Jan 2016
While Concussion is not earth shattering in any way, shape or form, it was pretty amazing the NFL even let this come out without some major objections. The film is supposedly very sanitized and the problems with CET are pretty well known but nevertheless, this was a major step forward.
The movie is essentially an investigative thriller. We learn about a Dr. that through some forensic research discovers that enormous men banging their heads against each other will have brain trauma and eventually suffer some major consequences. I guess hindsight is 20/20 but you could have seen that coming.
Concussion is an entertaining movie and if you like football it's definitely worth watching. It's not a spectacular feat of cinematography but you can have a good time and have pity for the millionaires that chase a ball like glorified gladiators.
