Review of Concussion (2015) by Jonathan B — 02 Jan 2016
Doesn't hit nearly as hard as it should have, pun intended. Sure, Will Smith is the best he's been in years, but anyone who has paid half attention to the NFL's numerous misdeeds over the last decade won't be any more outraged than they already are, while the film plays loose with many of its facts that it's hard to take its "man was not meant to play football" mantra seriously.
A documentary or a straight character study would have been more effective instead.
