Review of Concussion (2015) by Jess B — 29 May 2016
Will Smith travels completely far from his element by facing his most challenging role to date in this drama based on a true tragedy; delivering the best performance of his career. Not only was he snubbed of a Best Actor nomination at the Academy Awards, he was also deprived of the adulation he deserved.
Everything about Concussion from Acting to cinematography and even James Newton Howard's score suggests this film was heading straight for the Oscars. It's a true shame other, lesser motion pictures make it while the masterpieces get shelved.
