Review of Conan the Barbarian (1982) by Toni K — 14 Mar 2010
The best thing in the world you could possibly do, is to get the Definitive Edition version of this film on DVD and then watch the movie with the audio commentary. Featuring none other than the man himself, Arnie keeps you entertained the whole duration of the film â?? from beginning to end.
Not only is the film itself, an ironic and interesting piece of work, but the addition of this rare insight is a must. Listen and marvel at the several and varied moments where Arnie or the director comment on how hot one of the actresses on screen are, especially Conanâ??s lady friend.
You could actually make a drinking game where you had to drink every time someone was referred to as being â??gorgeousâ??, â??beautifulâ?? or resembling a â??Valkyrieâ??. The film itself stands the test of time, surprisingly.
I mean, it is what it is, a dialogue free action adventure, but itâ??s a pretty decent one at that. One befitting the over-use of Conanâ??s image on the side of â??shagging wagonsâ?? across the country throughout the 80s.
All of those men driving those cars, doing Arnie proud.
