Review of Compound Fracture (2013) by Drstephen T — 26 Apr 2013
So here we kind of have a horror icon standoff with Tyler Mane (Michael Myers in Rob Zombie's Halloween) and Derek Mears (Jason Voorhees in the 2009 Friday the 13th remake). Sounds awesome right? Well they aren't playing those characters but they do fight. But the movie isn't as exciting as it could have been. Heavy dialog and exposition weighs the story down. Tyler Mane wrote and produced this while casting himself as the lead. Never a good sign, although you can feel the love in what must've been his pet project. There are some cool scenes, especially one where screenwriter Todd Farmer makes an appearance and has his head chopped off by a van sliding door. I saw this at the Gold Coast Film Festival so you'll probably have to wait for DVD to see it.
2/5.
