Review of Compliance (2012) by Bradley M — 31 Mar 2013
So get ready to sit with your mouth open in shock and horror as you're about to watch what can only be described as either the best manipulation ever, or complete idiots in action.
A caller pretending to be a police officer enlists the help of a manager and others to interrogate another co worker at a fast food restaurant, what then occurs is just beyond ridiculous. This is based on true events of what happened in a McDonalds in Kentucky back in 2004. The film itself is shot tastefully, but is nothing special. It is the story itself which is everything, and it really raises some serious questions about our society and the impact that authority can have on the vulnerable or the easily manipulated. Everyone plays their part, which leaves us questioning, who is to blame?
This film didn't make me uneasy, just very annoyed. It's a great watch though.
