Review of Compliance (2012) by Joe O — 16 May 2013

Highly overrated. Too long and drawn out, the movie is an hour and thirty minutes but it feels like it's a full work day. It's shot gritty and the goal is not horror, or thriller by any means, but instead a sense of uneasiness is the goal.

Compliance achieves that goal, but it is just too drawn out. This would have been much better as a short film, not a full length motion picture. Although I did like that the villain's job is exactly what I do for a living, and for what I do for a living, the word 'compliance' is indeed a scary word.
