Review of Communion (1989) by Larry L — 07 Nov 2008
The "Real" Alien story as written by Whitley Strieber. Fantastic book that noone who read it thought would be able to be brought to the screen. But as he often does, Christopher Walken with uncanny ability, manages to bring across the complexity of Striebers anti-hero main character.
...namely, himself. It is a psychological journey and filmed like one. Definitely necessary to watch twice before everything sinks in (unless you are a film continuity and symbolism freak and have a photographic memory).
Only one star less because the cinematography could have been a little more "stylised" if you ask me. But some would say the documentarian style made it all the more believable.
