Review of Commando (1985) by Adrian D — 19 May 2012
As one of Arnold Schwarzenegger's most popular fan-favorite flicks, "Commando" is pretty much your average cheesy 1980's action film, involving a very basic plot and little character development, with non-stop action and chase sequences.
The screenplay is definetly in need of improvements, and an obvious example of "un-professional" film-making, but overall it makes a nice Saturday night popcorn flick! The movie itself, delivers an explosive action packed cinematic experience, that transports it's audience on one heck of a ride.
It delivers a thrill every minute, and is enough to keep you on the edge of your seat long after the credits roll, wrapped up with a pleasant 80's retro vibe. Not the greatest movie ever made, but if your interested to see Arnold Schwarzenegger kick major butt and utter the most awesome one-liners, you will nonetheless be entertained by this film.
