Review of Comedy's Dirtiest Dozen (1988) by Fwah S — 06 Dec 2008
This movie is a showcase of some of the upcoming talent during the late 80's/Early 90's. In the line up 0f 12 comedians are a 21 year old Chris Rock, a pre-home improvment Tim Allen and of course the legendary Bill Hicks.
Each comedian is described as being controversial, dirty and crude. Unfortunatley only a small handful of the comedians actually manage to deliver the laughs and live up to the description. The idea for this showcase is great but because each comedian is given between 7 to 10 minutes each, it becomes hard to adjust to their style and humour.
Without a doubt, Bill Hicks and Tim Allen steal the show but due to set times the range of subjects are limited. This movie is definatley worth a watch but it's not the sort of movie to write home about.
